I'm coming to NOLA with a group of friends next month. We're all bummed that we'll be missing Jazz Fest by just a couple weeks, so where can we make up for this tragedy?
Frenchmen Street! It's by far the most popular street to listen to jazz as it has the most popular venues/jazz clubs. Three of the most famous ones on that street are Snug Harbour, Maison, and The Spotted Cat Music Club.
If you're in the Uptown area, there's Tipitina's and Maple Leaf Bar. If you walk around The French Quarter and/or on Bourbon Street, you'll also be bound to stumble upon bars with lives jazz music, too.
