Best shopping in NOLA?

Is the French Quarter a great place to shop? What are the best streets for antiques, boutiques, and art galleries? Would love to know any of your "must shop" stores too!

HI!! Melissa, Yes the French Quarter is a nice place to shop but the area is call the French Market Pl on Decatur st. up from the Jackson square, lots of local stuff and more, Best street for Antiques is Royal St in french Quarter too and they have some art galleries on the same street, also. Definitely agree with Debbie on Magazine Street, the street is lined with fantastic boutiques and art galleries. Magazine Street is in the Garden District, which is a beautiful neighborhood to walk around and get lost in, the homes there are gorgeous! One of my favorites for some beautiful pottery was Derby Pottery and Tile.

You can find lots of antique shops along Royal St in the French Quarter. You can catch some great live music along the street as you shop!

We have the river walk on the river front newly renovated mall in the down town area, but if you like to take a ride in 15th St from down town go to Dillard's. if you just looking for normal american mall. clothes and typical shopping mall

A lot of art galleries are located on Royal in the French Quarter For shopping I like to head over to Magazine Street There are lots of cute local shops there. Another great shopping area is French Market Parts of it are a flea market but other booths have people's original products, including art. To see some great original New Orleans art just look around the fence that surrounds Jackson Square. Artists hang their pieces on the fence for people to hopefully buy. Great place to find a unique piece of local art. One of my favorite shops is Storyville for cool local T-shirts. Fleurty Girl also has some cool local things as well. They have locations in the French Quarter and Magazine Street.
