If you're looking for something romantic, I'd suggest The Rose Café

This cosy Victorian-style cafe offers light meals and freshly prepared desserts. The location and ambience of this place make you feel like you’re having food in some sleepy town in a European country. The view of their beautiful garden makes the experience even more surreal. Head out here on a date for a guaranteed good time.

Highlights: Outdoor Seating, Cosy Ambience
Must-Haves: Mezze Platter, Waffles
Cost For Two: Rs. 1,300
Cuisine: Continental, Italian, and Mediterranean
Address: Saket, Delhi (Get Directions)

If you're looking for something for high end and fancy, then Bukhara is your best bet.

Bukhara has been voted amongst the best restaurants in Asia, and for a good reason. The Dhaba-like ambience and the absence of cutlery ensure that you get a truly Indian eating experience. It’s not easy to find a table here so make sure you book in advance.

Highlights: Luxury Dhaba Ambience
Must-Haves: Dal Bukhara, Malai Chicken Kebab, Phirni
Cost For Two: Rs. 6,500
Cuisine: North Indian
Address: Chanakyapuri, Delhi (Get Directions)

These are just some of the Best Restaurants In Delhi. Delhi has a lot more to offer!

Varq Restaurant In The Taj Mahal Hotel for dinner. Also Tamra Restaurant and Pan Asian. You must try Karim's for exclusive non-veg. For pure veg go to Saravana Bhavan which can be little crowded but worth the wait.

Wenger's in Cannaught place for sweet lovers. Don't forget to try 'Paan' in cannaught place. A local mouth freshener of India.

I will be honest, some of these restaurants are still in my checklist but are highly recommended by friends in Delhi. In terms of places you need to cover for an unplanned food walk would be Chandni ChowkKhan Market and Connaught Place

Now for the restaurants, first checkout this list of best restaurants in delhi. Among the places not covered here Karim's and Andhra Pradesh Bhavan are my personal favourites.

Also do not miss out on Murthal K Paranthe if you visit in winter. Ask someone from delhi about it. Do not try to google, it is not a restaurant.

First of all welcome to India. :)

You will find lots of restaurants around Delhi. But I'll suggest you to try street food. That's the best part of Delhi. You can try them in Chandni ChowkIndia GateConnaught Place and much more. Foods like Gol-gappa, chat papdi, chuski (crushed ice with different flavors). Don't forget to try Paranthas in Paranthe wali galli (Chandini Chowk).

The list is long and there are so many places to go in Delhi, well you can always start from the typical indian street foods such as golgappa or aloo tiki (potato patties), but be careful they are all spicy but you can always go for the sweet ones, The most famous restaurants in Delhi are Barbeque Nation, Karim's, Parikrama- all that in Connaught Place, there are far more in there, you can also try the China Garden, The Hauz Khas Social, or refer to this list they are the best restaurants I know.....with some added ones such as Golden Dragon Restaurant, Rajinder Da Dhaba (safardjung enclave) and for exceptionally yummy momos or dimsums try Amar Colony

Welcome to India, hope it is relevant enough..... have a nice stay :)
