This could be in Nashville or surrounding areas. Family friendly, maybe with music. Great fried chicken, biscuits and local dishes. A place that will give us a great southern and local feel.
Try the Loveless Cafe. The biscuits and homemade jams are served all day, and the fried chicken is delicious! Plenty of history here and celebrity pictures on the wall of past visitors. Great atmosphere and even better food. When in Nashville, do not pass this gem up.
George and Michael are right--the Loveless Cafe and Puckett's are both great places to go in Nashville. I would also suggest looking into Monell's at the Manor; they've got skillet fried chicken, biscuits, the works. The food is served communal style (and it's all you can eat!), and they have Southern/country-style breakfast on the weekends. Also, the venue is really neat. The manor was originally a mansion for an L&N railroad tycoon; it burned down and was rebuilt and used as a private club, and then a buffet style restaurant, before it became Monell's at the Manor. It's a quaint place that combines Southern style comfort foods and a bit of local history too!
If your in the Nashville area on a Wednesday night I would recommend the Loveless Cafe. They have wonderful southern style meals. Can I suggest just starting with dessert because the pies are really good. On Wednesday nights starting at 7 pm Central time "Music City Roots" broadcasts a live radio show from the Loveless Barn. It is $10 a person or $5 with a student ID.
