"Kid-friendly things to do in Napa"
San Diego, California
My husband and I don't want to be the selfish parents who drag their kids wine tasting all day during our family excursion to Napa from SF (though that sounds mighty tempting!), so we'd like to have some kid-friendly options lined up. Are there any fun kids attractions in the area? We're only here for a day or two (still deciding), so maybe a couple fun things to fill in the gaps.

Lucky for you, a lot of wineries are actually very family-friendly! On top of being in gorgeous buildings, a lot of them also have vast outdoors areas that kids love to run around in.To start off, here are a couple of wineries that are especially family-friendly:
Here's another wine-related activity: on Sundays during the summer, the famous Napa Valley Wine Train actually has Family Fun Night, where all the kids get to ride in a separate car, have their own meal and be entertained with kid activities under the supervision of caretakers. All that while the adults get to enjoy their own meal and wine in another train while taking in the Napa Valley sights.
In Calistoga, there are two very family-friendly attractions: the Old Faithful Geyser of California and Petrified Forest.
And I'm not sure how far you wanted to travel, but in Santa Rosa, there's a safari that kids love, and in Fairfield, you can visit the Jelly Belly Factory and go on a tour. If you decide to do the latter, make sure you pick up a bag of Belly Flops. Those are the Jelly Beans that are sold in bulk at a discounted rate because they're misshapen :P
