Myrtle Beach

What's the best neighborhood in Myrtle Beach for a first time visitor?

I've never been to Myrtle Beach and I'm a little overwhelmed by all the hotel options. I'd like to stay in a hotel that is central and gives me good sense of what Myrtle Beach is like. I'd love to know where locals tell their friends to stay when they visit, and why those areas and hotels are special. thanks!

At   this time of year    all of the hotels are bargains; so stay in the area you  find most interesting'

south end Pawleys Island good restaurants  more subdued   but there is  the gardens   out  us  17 cant  think of the name but google  gardens in  myrtle beach full of  great gardens lots of statues small lunch  shop

murrells  inlet down south they have the marsh walk a boardwalk that   goes for about a half mile lots of restaurants nite life  with  live music     boat  tours etc

The Pier At Garden City is the big attraction music on the pier at nite    thats about it

Garden City (South Carolina) thats a family resort not much going on

surfside beach same as above they do have a large water park  for kids

Myrtle Beach you name it its there pick any hotel you want using  hotel com be sure to get  beach front this is still hurricane season havent had one since  2011 but  lots to do boardwalk is there and  broadway at the beach    a large  shopping center has lots of clubs for  you shopping plenty of  restaurants a multiplex theatre check it out on google

north  myrtle beach not as lively as  MB  but there are the theatres lots  to do shop and eat  at   barefoot landing  i

Little River  laid back lots of hotels and food not exciting for young crowd

now    that is what we call  60  miles of grand strand just different incorporated areas  but  to visitors is just one  big  fantastic   area  with lots of beach plenty to do movies  if it rains shop if it rains   eat your heart out and when u leave you will come back

Katie you look like a young women so stay in north myrtle beach

there are some  theatres, House of Blues Myrtle Beach, Pirates Voyage lots  of shopping and bars if not north myrtle beach then stay in   north side of myrtle beach confusing  yes myrtle beach has a  south end not good.

a north end pretty good

then you go into North Myrtle Beach itself. This is a tourist town so   sixty miles of  grand strand and thats sixty miles of hotels.

the center is around the board walk great to visit but stay in the north area.
