When travelling from Munich to Strasbourg I'd suggest stopping at any or all of these places (all have lots of good shops, bierhausen, bars, restaurants & cafes): 1. Augsburg with its unique (UNESCO World Heritage) medieval canals/water management system and many other historical sights in the Altstadt (historical centre), museums, botanical garden and parks: https://www.augsburg-tourismus.de/en/welcome 2. Ulm, with the world's highest church steeple on its Minster and many other historical sights in the Altstadt, museums, botanical gardens and parks: https://tourismus.ulm.de/en/ 3. Stuttgart is a large city, home to Porsche and Mercedes. It was greatly damaged in the Second World War and much of its Altstadt has been reconstructed but the city still contains many sights of historical interest, parks and museums: https://www.stuttgart-tourist.de/en 4. Karlsruhe with the magnificent Residenz in the city centre, parkland and gardens, museums and botanical gardens: https://www.karlsruhe-erleben.de/en 5. Baden-Baden a spa town dating back to at least Roman times. Historical sights including the remains of Roman baths, an old and a new castle, museums, parks and gardens. https://www.baden-baden.com/en All the official tourist information sites linked above are in English.
