I'll be traveling to Mumbai with some work people later this year and I'd like to go armed with a list of really good restaurants in the city. Price isn't as much an issue as quality is, although if it's a $400 a plate place, that might be a bit much.
I may be there by myself for a few days as well, so if there are cheaper, reliable places in the city I wouldn't mind knowing about those as well. Thanks!
Khyber Restaurant (Indian) & Trishna (Sea Food) are a must visit. I am sorry but i wouldn't recommend the above listed places except Mahesh Lunch Home, Cafe Leopold & Cafe Mondegar (wonderful for a beer or breakfast) as they do not guarantee hygiene & quality of food. If you're staying in South Mumbai there are a number of restaurants in Colaba & nearby places. Try Ellipsis The Tote (also has NEEL in the same premises) Vetro (Italian) Ziya (Contemporary Indian) Aer at Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai (beautiful rooftop place) The Dome The Table Masala Kraft Souk at The Taj Mahal Hotel (Lebanese) etc

There are many choices, go to Piccadilly (Colaba) and Carter's Blue (Carter Road, Bandra) for some great Lebanese recipes. Bade miyya (Colaba) for some Mughali Non-Vegetarian recipes. Britannia & Co. (Wakefield House) for some great Iranian recipes. You can also visit Badshah (CST area) for the great Kulfi Falooda and fresh fruit juices and shakes.
All these places are great and clean. thanks !!
