I''ll have 1 day in Ottawa and then 2 in Montréal. What are the best things to do?
Hola Arelis!
Saludos!!

The principal poles of visit, for a first timer are : Vieux-Montreal with the Marché Bonsecours on Rue Saint Paul Ouest and Place Jacques Cartier. Just waks arround the cobble stone streets with galleries and other boutiques. Nearby, Old Port of Montreal with lots of activities (rollers and bikes to rent, Imax, diffent expositions and since a few year, the beach, no simming sorry !)For points of view of Montreal, two possibilities : Parc du Mont-Royal on top of wich you'll see the classic postcard view of the city, with the river in the backround. At the top of the Olympic Stadium you'll Montreal from the East.
If you love gardens, wile your near the stadium, try the Jardin Botanique with it's greenhouses and different them gardens. Or if your on the Mont-Royal, rowm the grounds. This park was designed by the same archetect than Central Park in New York city.

What too choose, somany things to see and do in Montreal. Walk arround on the cobblestones in Vieux-Montreal and see Marché Bonsecours, the Montreal Museum of Archaeology and Historyand the Montreal City Hall where Charles deGaule made his famous "Vivre le Québec libre " speech. You could also go and see the views from the Parc du Mont-Royal or from the top of the tower of the Olympic Stadium. Two very different views, the first, point directly downtown, the typical panoramic postcard view of Montreal. The second, from the East looks out trowards the West.
If your more of a museum sort, there's Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal, Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal, Musée McCord d'Histoire Canadienne
If you like the outdoors, enjoy the parc shown in (f) or the Botanique
Invest in a ggod guide book for a multitude of choices of restaurants and nightlife.
