Visiting Milwaukee this weekend for Summerfest and need some advice on places to eat and drink. As far as food goes, prefer more local dives vs. tablecloth joints. Thanks for the help!
Sobelmans for great burgers (not far from Summerfest on St. Paul), Blue's Egg for breakfast, Cafe Corazon or Cempazuchi for Mexican, The Smoke Shack for BarBQ (also near Summerfest). There are lots of bars with good food in Bayview like Goodkind and Lulu Cafe. Bayview is close to summerfest, just a little further south.

My husband and I loved Maxie's! Great ambiance and the staff was so friendly! We had a great breakfast at the Mad Rooster Cafe, very generous portion sizes :)
