Andreas from Manhattan asked

Nice hotel by Miami Beach

I'm visiting Miami for a weekend with my fiancée and we'd like to stay somewhere with an amazing view with quick access to the beach and other attractions.  Any suggestions?

Hey Andreas!

I like to stay in the Art Deco District on South Beach and  Miami Beach. These buidings have style, each one being unique and different. The hotels were built in the 1920's and 1930's. Many of them have been re-renovated but have kept that unique retro style. Look for hotels on Ocean Drive or Collins Avenue. Best part about this area, you can walk out the front door of most hotels right onto the beach. It's also great for people watching. Sit at the cafes on  Ocean Drive and enjoy breakfast while watching beach-goers, roller-skaters, dog walkers, and luxury sports cars drive by. Another plus about some of these hotels: they have complimentary lounge chairs and towels on the beach for your enjoyment.

One problem some find with the Art Deco District: because the buildings are older, the walls can be thin which lead to loud noise while trying to sleep at night. To compensate for this, ask for a higher floor in the hotel. I recommend Park Central Hotel. The rooms have hardwood floors, thick walls, and windows looking out to the beach. We didn't have a problem with noise at all. It also had a rooftop lounge area for all guests to enjoy. Great views!

If you want a high-end luxury hotel check out  Loews Miami Beach Hotel. Wonderful accomadations, but you'll pay a pricey bill for them.

For nightlife go to  Mango's Tropical Cafe. This place is a lot of fun! It has an exotic look with a latin Miami atmosphere. They have live entertainment with salsa dancers and bands as well as multiple dance floors (both latin dancing and hip-hop). It's on South Beach so you can walk without having to worry about taxi rates. The drinks are tasty. You have to get a mojito while in Miami!

That Art Deco District sounds awesome. That's good to know about the older buildings and the higher levels. Thanks for the recommendations, Erin! We'll have a mojito for you!

I stayed at Grand Beach Hotel, 4835 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33140, Estados Unidos
+1 305-538-8666.
It's perfect, the beds are amazing.
View of the balcony is fantastic.
The lobby are great.
There are a very helpfull staff.

I thought the parking was overpriced, but any parking in Miami Beach is.

Enjoy your trip!
