I'm headed to Art Basel with a few friends in December and none of us have ever really had good Cuban food before, so where should we get some in Miami? We want a place to grab a quick Cuban sandwich and we'd also like to check out at least one decent sit-down restaurant.
Puerto Sagua Restaurant-extremely authentic, cuban luncheonette in Miami Beach
Havana Harry's is a more inventive spin on cuban, but very delicious in Coral Gables area
Casa Larios- in South Miami, a really simple and authentic place.

Sunil,
My recommendation for a good sit down Cuban Restaurant is someplace that is not considered a tourist trap and provides a most delicious selection of Cuban food....try Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine.
I only went to one Cuban place in Miami: Puerto Sagua Restaurant. I had the oxtail stew there and it was amazing! I highly recommend it if you like oxtail and the plantains were pretty good too.
Check out Islas Canarias Restaurant restaurant. It's in the heart of Kendall and a very local spot. They have amazing breakfast and croquetas!
Last week I stayed at the Fontainebleau Resort. More than one local person mentioned Puerto Sagua Restaurant as a great place to try. I didn't go myself, but I always trust the locals...

There are two very well known Cuban restaurants in Miami try either
Versailles or
La Carreta I would avoid
Yuca Restaurant
The beauty of Cuban food at the first two mentioned is that is is plentiful and inexpensive. Yuca is very trendy and expensive. To find a good sandwich just drive on 8th Street and look for the cafes on every corner.

Larios on the Beach is one of my faves! Portions are generous and food is legit. The ropa vieja is a must!
David's Cafe in miami beach has been a staple of the city when it comes to Cuban Food. Versailles is also great
You are probably gonna love the food at La Esquina Del Lechon Pork & Steakhouse.
Located at 8601 NW 58th St #101, Doral, FL 33166 is only 20 minutes from Art Basel.
Been there a couple time and their Cuban sandwich is just amazing!
