Best things to do in Miami?

Will be going to Miami and FT. Lauderdale September 22nd for 8 days. What are the best things to do? I'm up for anything, attractions, bars/clubs, restaurants, etc. It's my first time there so any info would be great! (=

Here are the first three off the top of my head.

1. Go to South Beach and get a drink Wet Willie's and then soak up the sub for a few hours

2. Check out the Art Deco Welcome Center and then walk around taking in sights

3. Drive over the Versailles, about 20 min away, for lunch -- best price in town for Cuban food.

  2. Wet Willie's (restaurant)
  3. Art Deco Welcome Center (attraction)
  4. Versailles (restaurant)

Hello Venessa! I always start spending some time at Bayside Marketplace, located in Downtown Miami. A two-level, open-air place that provides a lot of alternatives for shopping, a variety of restaurants, all with a unique waterfront setting. Don't miss to visit Lincoln Road, Miami Beach, Coconut Grove and South Beach.  I always try to find a beachfront hotel (there are many options) on Collins Ave.  All these areas that I just mentioned, are famous for having plenty of outstanding alternatives of restaurants, bars, shops, etc. A few restaurants that I recommend are Hosteria Romana, Seasons 52, P.F. Chang's, Havana 1957 Cuban Cuisine Lincoln Road, Bongos Cuban Cafe and Mango's Tropical Cafe. If you will make some shopping I rather prefer to go to Aventura Mall and Village of Merrick Park. However, if you want to save money you must go to Sawgrass Mills located in Fort Lauderdale. There are a few restaurants that I recommend in this area, Villagio, Zinburger Wine & Burger Bar and Grand Lux Cafe, excellent service, outstanding gastronomy. Oceanfront hotels that I recommend here Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six and Sonesta Fort Lauderdale Beach, they have pretty affordable rates. However if you want to stay close to the shopping mall, I recommend Sawgrass Grand Hotel, very clean and cheap hotel.

Hope this helps!!
