Anyone an idea about a nice affordable motel/hotel close to Collins Avenue? Something close to the beach would be great.

South Seas Hotel is a great modest but modern spot right on the beach (Collins) walking distance from everything South Beach offers.

The Catalina Hotel & Beach Club is just superb, best location and the coolest rooftop pool. Plus you can be really lucky with rates - we've had as low as $60 for a seriously large (by Miami standards!) Art Deco room.
