The direct route between Atlanta and Memphis doesn't have much in the way of casinos there is a racetrack with simulcasting in Birmingham (Alabama)  There's a Harrahs in Cherokee (North Carolina) There is a casino in Victoryland west of Montgomery and Wind Creek Wetumpka  a casino-hotel in Montgomery

If you go through Birmingham (Alabama), you can detour a little more west to the Mississippi River. All the casinos you could ask for in Tunica, which is about 40 minutes south of Memphis.
