Spending a weekend in Melbourne with my husband who is mostly veggie (he eats some fish) and who really loves innovative great food and wine. I have a love of culture and history. What are your recommendations for a memorable weekend at the end of March?
One of the best vegetarian restaurants in Melbourne is Vegie Bar in Fitzroy, they have great food which even a meat eater like myself can enjoy. The area has some other great spots to visit post dinner like Gelato Messina Fitzroy or N2 Extreme Gelato. Just nearby is the Melbourne Museum which may appeal to you if you have a love of culture and history.
Hope this helps :)

For veggie food, you will enjoy Vegie Bar and Yong Green Food. They are just a short tram ride out of the city to Fitzroy. Take the 112 up Brunswick Street. Enjoy.

If you're seriously into food, you should try getting a booking at Vue de monde - this is one of Australia's best restaurants and has an amazing view, particularly at night when the lights come up. They will certainly work with you on your dietary restrictions.
