Malaga to Marbella

Has anyone ever flown to Malaga, Spain way to Marbella? Getting from Malaga airport sounds like a long journey on the bus. Do you have any advice or suggestions on how to get from Malaga airport, please?

First time we did this trip was on the bus...& it was a nightmare! Then again we have 2 kids, 3, and 4 1/2. If you are on your own or travelling with another adult, no problem. Do the bus journey from Malaga airport - Costa del Sol & the views all the way to Marbella.

If like me you need get from the airport stress free to Marbella, then get yourself a taxi transfer!. It was such a good decision. & i will never go back to the bus. They supply kids seats if you let them know.

It's 35+ miles (55+km) from Malaga airport - Costa del Sol to Marbella so no transfer option is going to be quick.

I'm not sure why you think the bus journey is long?.

Avanza runs a direct (i.e. non-stop) bus from the airport to Marbella in around 45 minutes, which isn't a long trip. If you're travelling out of season there are, obviously, fewer daily departures than in high season.

One-way fare is from just 6.15 euro. You can buy tickets on arrival at the airport but you can also book online in advance if you wish, to be sure of getting a seat on the most convenient departure for you.

Another option is a private transfer, which will be much more expensive. It's unlikely to be much faster than the bus and may well be slower if you use a shared shuttle service. Google 'malaga airport transfers' to see firms which offer private transfers from Malaga airport.

A third option is to use a combination of bus into Malaga itself and then train to Marbella. This will take much longer (2 hours minimum), will be more expensive than the Avanza bus and will involve humping your bag between bus and train.

I'd certainly take the direct Avanza airport bus. :-)
