Which area of Malta to stay in for a March getaway vacation

Planning a month long winter getaway to Malta...most likely in March....like exploring , walking, visiting historic sites and people watching...not in the center of a city but near enough to walk to and explore...any advice?

Malta

I'd say the Ħal Għargħur/Swieqiareas. They're more residential and just near the busier St Julians/Sliema areas. Valletta is always quite well connected via public transport too.

Gzira can be a good choice. Is near Valletta and close to Sliema and St Julians. Nice walks at Manuel island and Sliema Ferry.

It depends what views you like. If you are into the ountryside and quiet try places close to Mdina and Rabat (Malta), if you like seaviews go for BirguBormla and Malta Island ( the three cities). Valletta city is also a very good option because it's the capital city and the city of culture 2018 so easy to get public transport to anywhere in Malta or you can even get water taxis to Sliema. Enjoy
