Hey Glenn! One of my favorite spots in Malaysia is from far the Perhentian Islands. It's awesome for diving (turtles, sharks, an so many fishes species), kayaking, snorkeling, sun-bathing! It's a little paradise, check this out from my previous trip :)

We stayed at Abdul Chalet and it was wonderful!

GO: check out Batu Caves, it's a cheap train ride from Kuala Lumpur City Centre (less than €1 for a return ticket) and no admission once you get there.

Also awesome is either Langkawi (for a nice beach getaway and great food) or Penang.

EAT: China Town area (Jalan Sultan Ismail) is worth a visit for some simple but tasty duck and rice or other options such a BBQ skewers of various foods.

For some awesome Indian food at Little India (Tandoori chicken and Naan for a few dollars).

I would recommend you to visit Langkawi Island. One day my friends and I went to this cluster of more than a hundred islands separated from mainland Malaysia by the Straits of Malacca. We had such a great time. We booked a pretty cheap car at and enjoyed our adventures. Langkawi was given a World Geo park status by UNESCO, so the nature there is breathtaking.

In addition, Langkawi is a duty-free island, which makes it a very favorable place for shopping.
