Tapas crawl

I've seen some tapas crawls on the likes of viator, etc. but I'm really not one for guided tours.

Any suggestions on the top 5-6 places to go for a drink with a side of tapa? I'm not looking for top rated sit down restaurants that serve tapas.. more casual, street food style places that you get a nice tapa served with your drink & can opt to buy some tasty extras.

Are there any popular trails for this?

Go to La Latina. Calle Cava Baja is lined with bars. I know people always suggest el Mercado de San Miguel but the quality has gone down since it opened. Its overpriced for what you get. La Latina is close so you can check out both though!!

El Tigre walking distance from Kilometer Zero has a great Caprinha(?) for about 6-7 Euros and they hand you plates of delicious tortilla de patatas and other great things with your drink. Feel free to ask for more as the staff is extremely accommodating. This place is a hot spot for students studying abroad so beware of the drunken youngsters. Definitely worth trying though!
