A Nerd in Spain- best things to do?

I am spending two weeks in Spain. One in Madrid and another Barcelona. This is a trip completely for my wife, but she wants me to have a good time. I'm quite a nerd (computers/video games/card games etc./comic books) Is there anything that strikes someone as a must do for the nerdy traveler? Most museums won't help. Please help.

Hi Christopher,

when in Barcelona:
Please visit betahaus I Barcelona - Coworking Space, best place to hook up with fellow nerds. The best comic book store is Continuará.

For all the other needs, try my free three day guide, or dive deeper with the book: #BCN - by locals

In all circumstances: Enjoy!!!

Hi Christopher,

Geek or not, I think that some things in Barcelona are worth a visit from everyone. I do feel you'd enjoy

1. Dalí Theatre-Museum

2.La Pedrera

3. Casa Batlló

4. La Sagrada Familia

5. A walk down La Rambla

6. El Barri Gòtic, especially Barcelona Cathedral They have really good street performances right outside

7. You may or may not go to the Museu Picasso, but on the street that leads up to it from the Metro Station, there's a store called Arlequí Máscares which sells the most amazing masks. The store itself is supposed to be one of the oldest in Barcelona. http://www.arlequimask.com/ca/

Hope you have a great trip!

Hey Chris, I spent a few days in Madrid and had a great time. There is a lot to see just walking the city but if you would like a local's opinion or other travelers' look online for a language exchange meetup. Usually these are at a bar but its a great way to meet other people who speak English and will have some of the best advice.

This may not answer your question but you and your wife should go to the rooftop bar at the Circulo de Bellas Artes during the day. It's a good place to relax and get some great views of the city.

Hi Christopher!

Do you enjoy football? Are you a Madridista??

If yes, you could visit Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. I would suggest a Bernabeu Stadium Tour or a Madrid Panoramic Sightseeing Tour and Bernabeu Stadium Ticket

With both tours, you will have the chance to look through Real Madrid's home stadium with no limits, and even have access to those places that you only had pictured in your mind :)

Check out the following links:

or find all things to do in Madrid here:

http://www.tourboks.com/en/spain/madrid/index.html

and all things to do in Barcelona here:

http://www.tourboks.com/en/spain/barcelona/index.html?order=0&view_type=0

Enjoy Spain and eat a lot of tapas!!

PS: i am working for Tourboks and i would be glad to help out more if needed ;)
