Getting there from London

I am trying to decide whether it is easy to get to Maastricht by Eurostar. Can anyone who has travelled from London before advise me, I would be very grateful for help?  Many thanks.

The official German railway website in English carries times and details for almost all European trains. It's an excellent resource for working out rail journeys:

LondonMaastricht isn't a direct (i.e. no change) journey but it's straightforward enough, taking just over 4 hours.   It's basically:

1. London to Brussels

2. Brussels Midi to Liege

3. Liege to Maastricht.

Use the official Eurostar website to buy your London >Brussels ticket. Buy it as far in advance as possible because the cheapest tickets quickly sell out. Note that you can't buy a London > Maastricht ticket through the Eurostar website.

So you can just buy your Brussels > Maastricht ticket when you arrive at Brussels Midi.... that's straightforward enough too. People at the ticket office speak English and ticket machines have English language options. There are Brussels > Maastricht departures more-or-less every hour, so you'll have ample time to buy a ticket.

Or you can buy it online in advance from the official Belgian railway website in English. The fare is from 19.80 euro:

Mentioned in this answer:

  1. London (city)
  2. Maastricht (attraction)
  3. Brussels (city)
  4. Liege (city)
