Any cool things to do/places to eat in Louisville?

We are attending the Forecastle Festival on the Waterfront there for the weekend , but we'll have a full day to do/eat whatever we want - we wanna make it count! Suggestions? :) Thanks!

Quills Coffee new location on Main St. is a great place to start. For BBQ try Feast BBQ Another option in the same area is Grind Burger Kitchen. The B & B Lamps and Shades is my personal favorite. Top that all of with a cookie or other treat from Please & Thank You

Joe's Crab Shack is not local-it is a chain and is not really cool.  I haven't been there recently so I hesitate to make recommendations - sometimes restaurants have a very short half life.  I also don't like to use TripAdvisor recommendations, but Yelp has recommendations and they are mostly for food.

Joes Crab Shack is on the River near the Bridge and is a great place.

I’ve lived here for 40 yrs and only been to a couple of those places. The zoo is cool. The Louisville Science Center is worth seeing, the Frazier Historical Museum, Ky Derby Museum are all fun too. There’s a big park called Parklands if you like hiking. Fort Knox isn’t far either.

l have been to the Derby many times and been up driving around Louisville all night a few times. I misspent many youthful hours there. All very fabulous.

Louisville’s downtown is wonderful. Lots of great restaurants, hotels and bars. Try to go to Fourth Street Live!
