Christmas meals in Los Angeles?

I'm considering dining out instead of cooking this Christmas. I'm looking for restaurant options that will be:

  • Open on Christmas day
  • In the Los Angeles area (beach cities preferred)
  • I can get out the door for less than $100/person if we don't booze it up too much...
  • ... But still feels like a place worth dressing up a little for.
  • All cuisines considered.

Many thanks!

Don't know if they are open, but Houston's or McCormick & Schmick's Seafood & Steaks in Manhattan Beach both fit your description.

McCormick & Schmick's is open on Christmas, for future reference.

Hi Elizabeth!

I think Santa Monica may have some options but from what I've gathered a lot of them are mainly Christmas Eve dinners since they're independently owned. Buca Di Beppo will be open forsure.

Catch in Santa Monica and Herringbone Los Angeles(Herringbone) at the Mondrian are both great :)

Hope this helps :D

I would have dinner The Langham Huntington, Pasadena.  They have a few beautiful restaurants and the views are stunning.  Definitely a dress up kind of place.

We tried Shade Hotel's Zinc Lounge. The atmosphere was more casual than I expected, but the food was tasty and service great. Or maybe the drinks were just strong so everything seemed amazing. They offered their normal menu as well as a special Christmas menu with a tasty kale salad, prime rib, ravioli, and egg nog creme brule. If you want a dining table, you'll likely be sitting outside. So dress for the weather.

I don't know anything by the beach but Café Bizou on Ventura in Sherman oaks is open and it's amazing. Check it out online, but it's a french/ euro style restaurant with a very cozy warm atmosphere. It is very popular though so you would want to make a reservation.
