Whew, that's no easy task since there are so many. If you eat at ONE truck, it has to be one of Roy Choi's Kogi BBQ Food Truck. They're all over San Diego, and he's really the person who started the whole food truck trend. He has a ton of great restaurants in the city, too, including POTCOMMISSARY- The Line HotelA-Frame, and Alibi Room, which features a lot of his food truck classics.

You really have to do a taco truck, too, and there are hundreds, many of which are camped out by bars on the weekends. It's all about the carne asada and California burrito. Mariscos Jalisco is amazing. Some other good ones include El Chato Taco Truck and Leo's Taco Truck

Mentioned in this answer:

  2. POT (restaurant)
  3. COMMISSARY- The Line Hotel (restaurant)
  4. A-Frame (restaurant)
  5. Alibi Room (restaurant)
  6. Mariscos Jalisco (restaurant)
  7. Leo's Taco Truck (restaurant)
  8. El Chato Taco Truck (attraction)

The Kogi Taco Truck! Hands down the best in LA. Check their website out to find out where they will be parked when you're in town:

Hard to go wrong with Dogtown Dogs. Great dogs and tater tots. Visit First Friday in Venice for a great variety of trucks in one spot.
