Surviving London gluten free?

I'll be in London with my friend who is gluten free. What are some good places to find gluten free options? Are there any pubs/restaurants with gluten free fare on their menus?

There are lots of healthy food places in London which usually include gf food, really shouldn't be a problem! First thing that comes to my mind is Planet Organic, one of my favourite places (I know the Honest Burgers on Torrington Place, but there are a few more), then Honest Burger (several locations), Namaaste Kitchen, Leon...

There are more Gluten Free choices than there were, but this ain't San Francisco ;)  Also, very few places will guarantee GF, so depends on the severity of the intolerance.

From this list, I've only really eaten in Leon and Wahaca.  Leon is more of a lunch place, but Wahaca would be great for a night out.

Fortnum & Mason gluten-free afternoon tea is a must do!  Possibly the closest your friend will ever get to the full-on British afternoon tea experience!
Very likely to be fun, decadent and delicious.

A few chain restaurants will come in handy: Pret, Nandos, wagamama (rice noodles and gluten free buckwheat soba noodles), Leon, and even Pizza Express has a gluten free pizza now.

Visit a website called healthista.com and check out the reviews by Charlotte/Lottieluvsu. She is coeliac and tries many different places in London.

Hi Kay:

London is a wonderful restaurant city and you won't have an issue finding gluten-free options or any dining option you're looking for. TripAdvisor has a great city app for looking up restaurants with reviews and menus. Have fun!
