I am looking at a apartment for a week stay located in the Southwark area, specifically the Strata SE 1 building. We are planning to do the typical London things and am reading that bus access is just across the street as well as close to the Elephant and Castle tube station.
Those of you who are familiar with London, what are your thoughts about staying in this location?
Thanks in advance!
I wouldn't say that it is a great place to stay, but it would be OK. This is a more up and coming area of London. The nearest tube station is on the Bakerloo line, which would make things quite easy to get around London on. In short, there are many other better places to stay in London.
Bus and tube access is ok but it's not an area of great interest and definitely a bit iffy at night, personally i would look elsewhere.
If you are looking for short term accommodation near southwark then you can either go for hostels or serviced apartments. There are numerous options available online as you can compare and grab some good offers also. Personally I would recommend you - thesqua.re, spareroom.co.uk, booking.com, Airbnb and many more.
Southwark is park. One of the oldest parts of London, Southwark is 1.5 miles east of Charing Cross and faces the River Thames. It is a good place to explore as well on budget.
