You should look in to taking a coach/bus from Victoria Coach Station. This is the most affordable way. Or you could take the Eurostar train from London St Pancras International Eurostar Station to Brussels then change for another train to Rotterdam via Amsterdam. This is affordable if you book in advance... you can then get a fair Eurostar ticket.

Hi

Try Eurolines www.eurolines.co.uk they do coach trips from Victoria Coach Station to Rotterdam twice a day. 10am and 7pm departures, both 11 hour journeys but for only £20-£30 well worth it

I'm going the other direction this summer...Amsterdam to London and I am taking the Eurostar. My ticket was about $80. It's about a 4 hour trip.

Try the likes of megabus or greyhound or nationalexpress coaches? If you have no luck there, then best bet might be to look into trains or even an easyjet flight?

Cheapest would probably be Megabus, offering very cheap rates (from £15 for May).

The bus takes 8 hours during daytime, and 9h 15m if you take the night bus.

The train is faster but also more expensive. Most of the cheap tickets are already gone, but you could check NS Hispeed to find tickets to Rotterdam. Prices of €55+.

If you want to fly, Ryanair still has some discount fares from London to Eindhoven (£20 for May), but they charge you £15 for a 15kg suitcase. The train from Eindhoven to Rotterdam (1 hr) would set you back another €17,40.

Other flight options would be with Easyjet (to Amsterdam), or check Skyscanner for flights to Rotterdam.

I prefer to air travel but you could also consider road trip as an option. Do remember you will need to use the ferry to cross the English Channel.
