We want to get a train from Livorno to Pisa (visiting in June for one day on a cruise) - visit the tower and the square get back on the train and take it to Monterosso or La Spezia. We would like to get on the ferry and view the CinqueTerre from the sea (weather dependent). We then need to return to Livorno by train. What is the best CT town to access the ferry terminal from the train station. We both have knees that don't like steps.
I think Vernazza is your best bet. Its railway station is about 5-10 minutes' walk from the harbour (a fairly gentle upward slope).
The railway stations in the other CT villages are further away from their harbours.
