Two days, where to stay?

We are arriving into Lisbon and then driving up the coast to Porto in April 2015.  We were thinking to stay in either Cascais or Sintra for two nights hanging around Cascais one day and one night and then touring Sintra on day two...which is better to stay overnight?  There are 5 of us.. early 40's, well traveled and want enough to do either touring, walking, eating or cocktailing for two days and nights prior to heading north.  Are two nights too much, what location is best place to stay and taxi or drive back and forth to a hotel?

Thanks!

My favorite hotel in Cascais is Hotel Albatroz Cascais, you can walk around Sintra for one day and Cascais/Estoril for the other day. 2 days is good and make sure you drive via Guincho to Sintra and if you feel like a drink at the end of the day find Bar do Guincho at the back of the beach for a casual drink in the middle of the dunes. If you stay in Lisbon I highly recommend Memmo Alfama Hotel Lisboa

I would advise you to stay in Cascais. That would allow you to be near the night life in Cascais near the historical center, which is real nice. You could stay at the Beco TortoHistorical Cascais Apartments.

And I like to eat at Rua Frederico AroucaCascas, real close to the beach, and with lots of apetizers to try!

If you stay in Lisbon you should stay in Baixa, which is the historic zone and is near every atraction.

I would go to Sintra just for the day, theres no much to see besides the castel. Caiscais is nice and but you can also go there from Lisbon because is really near.

Hello,

Definitly stay in Cascais! More safe and beautiful with a lot to do during the night. Sintra is kind of desert during the night.

Have a nive travel.

Cascais is a very nice town to use as a base with god places to eat and a nice seaside location.

Sintra is extremely touristy with truckloads of tourists and most of the eating places there are geared towards people who are in town for an hour, so I would not bother to stay overnight there.
