A great way to discover great non-touristy places and good tips from locals where and what to eat in Lisbon is to take a food tour in the first days. Then you can explore by yourself, with plenty of insights. Check out Taste of Lisboa Food Tours (www.tasteoflisboa.com)

Hello, I always advice at least a 3 day travel to Lisbon, because there's so much to see!

1 day around the castle of São Jorge de Arroios, and the beautiful traditional streets around it. Chiado, the downtown of Lisbon and all around, they're a must see!

1 day in Belém, with Jerónimos Monastery, Torre de Belém and Padrão dos Descobrimentos.

1 day in Cascais, a beautiful small city, 30 minutes by train (around 3€ each travel I think), where you can have a wonderful day near the sea, with great restaurants, great parks, and a lovely beach.

Have a nice travel.

i know a good restaurant in Lisbon in Principe Real, it's called Atalho Real (https://www.zomato.com/grande-lisboa/atalho-pr%C3%ADncipe-real-lisboa).

And in lisbon's downtown, there is a bar called Café A Brasileira, that as a statue in front of it, of on of the greatest portuguese poets, luís de camões. And you can go to ELEVADOR DA GLÓRIA its well known by tourists, and you got a good view of lisbon, and in Miradouro Sao Pedro de Alcantara you got a great view as well, and from there you can see Hard Rock Cafe Lisbon.

And in Praça do Comércio you can see the river, its called Tejo, and from there you can see, and take good fotos of a bridge called Ponte 25 de Abril and right beside its a statue of Jesus, called Cristo Rei, its very beautiful.

Hi Kaitlyn,

I just wrote an article about the highlights, but it's in Dutch (maybe you can use Google translate): http://www.ikwilmeerreizen.nl/wereldplekken/citytrip-lissabon-10-highlights/

I can really recommend to go to LxFactory and Time Out Mercado da Ribeira. Also, if you like local food, book a food tour with Taste of Lisboa (www.thetasteoflisboa.com).

Have fun!
