Hi,
I'm planning to visit Lisbon, Sintra, and Lagos for a week before I take the train to Seville, Spain. How many days should I stay in Lisbon, Sintra, and Lagos? And should I do a day trip to Sintra from Lisbon? Or Plan my trip to go to Lisbon --> Sintra --> and straight to Lisbon? Is there a train that goes directly to Lagos from Sintra?
Thanks!
Lisbon (Portugal) Sintra (Portugal) Lagos (Portugal) Seville (Spain)
Hello Chaniya,
In my oppinion you should stay 4 days in Lisbon, and use one of those to visit Sintra ( there's a direct train, for around 4€ I think).
Lagos it depends, if you're going to relax, spend some days there, it's really good, if is just to meet and walk around, 2 days are enough, it's a small town.
Any other informations you need just let me know ;)
Have a wonderful trip
Hi Chaniya,
Sintra is just a short train journey from Lisbon so you could stay in Lisbon and travel there for a day or even half-day. You can travel by train from Sintra to Lagos but you must change in Lisbon. There is a regular train from Lisbon to Lagos - the journey takes between 4 and 5 hours. Take a look at www.cp.pt for timetables. Probably the best way to travel from Lagos to Seville is by bus, there are trains but there's no direct route, afaik. The Eva bus runs on this route, it's pretty cheap and efficient but it's a bit of a trek. I think the journey takes about 7 hours!
You can see a lot with a week in Portugal. When you arrive in Lisbon, do a day trip to Sintra (http://bit.ly/1mRU44B). Spend about 2 days to explore Lisbon and then rent a car to go south. On my blog I wrote a post about a possible itinerary and where to stop on the way: http://bit.ly/1OlePJe
Hi,
Sintra is only very small but pretty and could easily be done as a day trip from Lisbon. I think one night here would be enough if you want to stay. Lisbon is a great city and there is a lot to see. I would recommend a minimum of 3 nights to see everything. Lagos is very much a tourist town on the Algarve and great if you want to relax and hit the beach but is short on sights. It is lively with lots of restaurants. Lisbon is definitely the highlight.
