Is Lausanne a good place to stay for 5 -7 days in early Junewhlle visiting the towns along Lake Geneva including Geneva, Nyon, Morges, Vevey and Montreux. We will have a car and would like to stay in one hotel for the time we are there or at most another city along the lake. What is the temperature in the first two weeks of June along the Lake

Lausanne is a very pleasant city and imo it would make a very good base for explorations. It's only about 83km/40 miles away from Geneva and Nyon, Morges, Vevey and Montreux are all much nearer.
It's impossible to say with any certainty what the temperature will be in early June, though data suggests an average range of roughly 14 > 22 Celsius (approx 57 > 72 Fahrenheit).

Lausanne is a wonderful place to stay any time of year. You won't want to actually use the car in the city -- public transportation is good, and it's a lovely walking city. Geneva's an hour and a half away by car, at the extreme west end of your itinerary.
Do you absolutely need the car? Trains in Switzerland are amazing, and they will take you to even the tiniest towns, incredibly efficiently. A car can be a headache and gas is very expensive all over Europe this year.

Thanks much. Actually we are flying into Zurich from Venice and renting a car. We found an apartment/hotel in Buchillon and there are two train stations almost within walking distance so we will be able to explore both by train and car if we need it. In any case we appreciate both your and Mary's input and advice.
