Antananarivo, Madagascar
We are a group of college students looking for a spring break destination in Latin America. We would ideally rent a villa and explore the place and its surroundings.
Which places would you recommend?
If you want something a little different, I'd recommend Guatemala and doing a combination ofAntigua Guatemala and Lago de Atitlan. Antigua is a very historic colonial city, ringed by volcanic peaks with cool bars and nightlife. There are some amazing hotels and inns in Antigua as well as houses for rent. Lago de Atitlan is an amazingly beautiful place that fits the adventure side of things that also has some options for bars and nightlife (albeit on the backpacker side of things).
While Anitgua is my personal favorite, another interesting spot that is similar (but not as interesting) is Granada (Nicaragua). Also, San Juan del Sur in Nicaragua is a good spot if you want to hit the coast.
