Places to stay in Lagos?

What are the best places to stay in Lagos (Nigeria), safe, inexpensive, and with reliable electricity?  I am planning a trip for two in a few weeks.

Staying in Lekki or will Victoria Island be a really good idea.
You can check Nigerian OTAs like hotels.ng for reviews etc.
Some of my favourites are Eko Hotels & Suites , Maison Fahrenheit Hotel and Radisson Blu Anchorage Hotel.

Hi Pete,

I spent a year in Nigeria, much of it in Lagos, and would really recommend the sea-side open market. Amazing hand-crafted and indigenous arts and crafts, local music, etc.

From a foodies perspective, I would strongly suggest seeking out street vendors who prepare "Suya" (spicy grilled beef kabobs), and trying some of the local soups with groundnut (peanuts) and "fufu" (pounded yam).

I wasn't a fan of the soups with okra (consistency issues) but they are all delicious.

The fresh, local mangoes are amazing, too!

Have fun!
