Cheapest home stays?

I'd like to know about the cheapest accommodation options in Ladakh - home stays, guest houses or hotels. But NO hostels please!

I stayed at the Hotel Tsomori in Leh, just a few blocks away from the town centre, and it was 800 Rupee per night.  There were some hotels for as cheap as 250 Rupee but they were very "unimipressive".

The Ashoka Guest House - very clean and well managed. Run by a sweet family that stays next door. Was the cheapest and best accommodation available in the town when we went there in summers this year. Rs.800 per night. Padma Guest House and Hotel - I found this one to be one of the best and reasonably priced, but I think their guest house is under renovation, so maybe you will have to check their hotel, Hotel is basically better facilities etc and around 1000-1500 more than the guest house

Gangba Homestay - Even cheaper than above, same facilities etc but a good 15 mins walk  from town ..

Silver Cloud Guest House .

Oriental Guest House .

but if u truly want a home stay experience then definitely gangba, then padma .

There are several guesthouses in Leh. if you want homestays you can visit Changspa Rd. You can get a deal for 400 - 500 per room. Also the Upper Tukcha Rd has several guesthouses which charge around 800 per room and the foreigners swarm this area so the cafes are great in this place.

  1. Changspa Rd (attraction)
  2. Upper Tukcha Rd (attraction)
