Hi, welcome to Kuala Lumpur :)

3 days is a bit short. below are the suggestion:-

- Visit to KLCC, shopping mall sandwiched between the Petronas Twin Tower, going up to the sky-bridge to have view of the KL city

- KL Tower and the revolving restaurant on top (need reservation if to take dinner there)

- Batu Caves (A cafe with a Hindu Temple in the middle of the hill), KL Bird Park (good to go if with family with young kids)

- Spend a day in Genting Highlands  or Sunway Lagoon

- Eating places, every ways has nice foods of different ethnics, Chinese, Malay, Indian, Korean, Japanese, western, etc... Can try the popular eating street of Jalan Alor & China Town.

- Nightlife : Jalan Bukit BintangJalan Raja ChulanJalan P Ramlee

- Shopping : KLCC, Mid-Valley, Berjaya Times SquarePAVILION KL SHOPPING

Hope you have pleasant stay in KL.

KL is really well connected with its train network, so easy to get around.  KLCC is where the Petronas Towers are, there is also a nice park, the aqaurium, large malls etc.  Lots of places to eat and a good starting point.  Brickfields or Little India is also worth a trip to, as is Jalan Alor central market.  The bird park is nice if you want a bit of greenery.  For a two day trip, there is Ipoh which is a few hours north, Malacca (lovely port town) is south and on the coast.  Not sure about public transport to there, but taxis can be negotiated.

In the evening, Jalan Alor near Bukit Bintang area, has a lot of streetside open air restauranrs, street stalls  with lots of local, chinese, thai, vietnamese etc food to offer.

Malacca Town, reacheable in about 2 hours by bus is also a good option.  jonker street has an interesting night market happening on saturdays.

I did't get awesome food experience in Kuala Lumpur City Centre, just walking in to have food in malls.

However, I could recommend you for 2 malls.

Pavilionmall, there are lot of cafes and restaurants. I've found HK style sweet is delicious.

Food court in a mall at Petronas Twin Tower is not bad, they have a variety of local food.

Chinatown Kuala Lumpur is a good place for food too.

Batu Caves-beware the monkeys, they can snatch sunglasses etc. Central Market-the batik here is better quality than in the street markets. Islamic Arts Museum. Little India and Chinatown. Masjidi Negaraj-the National Mosque-make sure that shoulders, legs and head are covered and be respectful, but is so beautiful inside. Go for a drink at Traders Hotel, Kuala Lumpur-has a pool in the middle. The monorail is handy for getting around. A day trip to Malacca is worthwhile, The Malaysian Tourist Centre on Jalan Ampang offers cultural dance performances at a nominal price-there is also a craft outlet there with good quality souvenirs.

Hi, I went there last January for 3 days. We were staying in Bukit Bintang which is pretty good cause it's somwhat centric, there are hotels, lots of bars and restaurants and a few shopping malls.

From there you can take the free bus, the purple one, to visit the Central Market and Petaling Street. Nearby there are some Indu and Chinese temples. This bus takes you also to the Petronas Towers which are awsome as well as the KL City Park that is right behind the towers and is really beautiful. There you can visit Aquaria KLCC.

We also enjoyed Menara Kuala LumpurMasjid Negara (National Mosque) and the Perdana Botanical Gardens which is nearby.

To visit the Petronas you have to purchase the tickets in advance, you don't need to do that for the Menara Tower.

Transportation is really easy with the free bus, train and subway. I don't have an specific restaurant or bar to recomend but the food is really tasty everywhere.
