Tyler from Edmonton asked

Best District for 1 Month of Living

Hey all,

I'm staying in Kuala Lumpur for a month. I want to get into the expat lifestyle there as I'll be working remotely from there for that month.

I am not picky about where I live as long as it's not dangerous.

I'd rather pay for a location close to what's happening than somewhere cheaper that is remote. I'd also pay more for a good location than for quality. As long as it's not dangerous.

I'll be there from February 20 - March 20.

Suggestions?

Hey Tyler, I asked around my Malaysian friends and here are some suggestions re: districts - BangsarSri HartamasMont Kiara.

signature suites hartamas was a recommendation as well - apparently great security.

Another friend said this -  Mont Kiara if they are young and adventurous, Taman Tun Dr Ismail if they prefer a quieter neigbourhood.

For what it's worth I used to stay at The Ascott & Kirana Condominium near KLCC which are beautiful 5-star serviced apartments; apparently Corus Hotel Kuala Lumpur is a cheaper alternative. Staying within the KLCC area means you wouldn't need a car to get around unlike some of the other suggestions above.

:)

Hi Tyler, I agree with the suggestions given by Jackie. I had good experiences in Mont Kiara and have stayed in 3 different Mont Kiara apartments.

I'll add Northpoint condo in Mid Valley to the list. Northpoint Residences is connected to Mid Valley Megamall, one of Kuala Lumpur's largest malls. You can shop for groceries, go to a coffee shop, eat local and international cuisine, go to the bank, go for movies, and workout – all under one roof.

It's easy to get to other parts of Kuala Lumpur from Mid Valley. Take a look at this Klang Valley Transit Map.
