The Malaysia Tourist Centre on Jalan Ampang offers a cultural dance show every day except Sunday from 3-4pm. It is free and is worthwhile. There is also a craft/ souvenir shop there.

The Central Market  near Chinatown Kuala Lumpur have an outdoor stage and do cultural performances .

Day trip to Malacca Town-ruins of St Paul's Church, try having a nyonya lunch at one of the restaurants there, Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, Famosa Padu Sdn Bhd

Trip to Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary about 2 hours NW of KL-an organised tour might be the easiest way to get there-we used one as it seemed easier.

Petronas Twin Tower observation deck for good views.

If art is your thing-Galeri Petronas on 3rd floor of Suria KLCC mall at base of Petronas Towers always good for a look, and  also Museum of Islamic Art

For the evening I would recommend Jalan Petaling Street market which has a lot of street food as well in nearby alleys. If you want a retreat from bustling city life, go to Butterfly Park KL. It has a very beautiful tropical garden totally enclosed so butterflies can freely fly there. Nearby, you will find as well Kl Bird Park and Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia which has quite extensive collection of various artifacts.

Here are some of my galleries from Kuala Lumpur with dozens of photos:

Don't cross the street right here, the cops will book you for jaywalking. Use the foot-over-bridge.
