What is your favorite restaurant in Krakow?

Heading to Krakow and I'm looking for the best restaurants to try while I'm visiting. Open to all types of food! What are your top places to eat?

One of my favourite places for traditional food is "U Babci Maliny" just off the main square (Google map link HERE  Their prices are reasonable and the food is really good.  My Polish in-laws always want to go there, so you know it's GOOD.

Perogi are great, but don't fall into the typical tourist mistake of asking for PerogiS.  The "i" already means it's plural.  (And seriously, who would eat just one "perog" anyways?)

If you need a nice 'chill' spot, check out the coffee shop on the 1st floor (meaning upstairs on what North Americans would say is the 2nd floor) of the "Cloth Hall", the large building in the middle of Krakow's main square.  I'm not sure of the name, but it's run by Tribeca coffee which is one of the better small brands in Krakow.  Enter through the museum's main entrance, but you can get there without paying the entrance fee to the gallery (which is also worth a visit.  Amazing!)  Their terrace overlooks all the action in the square, without feeling 'busy'.  Be sure to try their hazelnut latte.  It's a bit too sweet for me, but the flavour is great!

Restauracja Kawaleria Kraków– really lovely, elegant atmosphere and great vegetarian dishes which are not that easy to find in Krakow (I think).

Bohema  – all I remember eating here is mushroom soup in a bread bowl but it was great and I remember the food here was excellent and I remember the drinks were even more excellenter. ;) This is where I had my first shot of bison grass vodka. Amazing!!! Also had great drinks at a place called Shakers.

There’s also an amazing Art Nouveau café called Restauracja Kawiarnia Jama Michalika that’s worth going to just for the décor. It’s kind of dark and bizarre but totally worth seeing.

  2. Bohema (restaurant)

I second Scott's comment about "U Babci Maliny" -- I always eat there at least once whenever I'm in Krakow.

Pod Aniołami is a great place, but it's a bit on the pricey side (one of the few local restaurants with an actual chef-made tasting menu).

I also want to recommend C.K. Browar, which is a great place for both eating and drinking some top-notch beer.

And Pod Baranem is also cool -- affordable, too. A charming Medieval-looking eatery.

Dynia Resto Bar - restauracja Kraków is really good restaurants. If you want to taste something from tradicional  polish  home you should eat a "pierogi". Delicous dishes are also in Forum przestrzenne. If you want to eat something in magical places you should go to the Kazimierz.

One of my favorites restaurant in Krakow is Kolanko No 6. We ate there at least twice a week. My favorite dish was the indian curry crepes and the chicken tagine. Drink the Pod Papugami which is cider with vodka and pineapple juice :) They have great outdoor seating for warm days.

Frytki Belgijskie w Krakowie has delicious belgian fries with different dips for you to choose from. I ate a small size for lunch sometimes and it was enough for me :) It's in a food truck park so other options available if you need something else.

Best pizza is Pizza Garden. It gets crowded but worth the wait.

Galeria Sztuki Współczesnej Bunkier Sztuki is a fabulous gallery cafe with outdoor sitting in the park. I love their food and they have the best coffee. My favorite hot drink was a cafe latte with honey and cinnamon.

plac Nowy, You can try a Zapiekanka which is a traditional Polish style pizza. It's a baguette with chopped mushrooms and cheese drizzled with ketchup on top. They have other toppings available...I tried one with ham, bananas and pineapples. There are several stalls on the plaza but go to Endzior...locals and visitor's say they have the best one.

Can't skip pierogies and the ones I liked best were at Zapiecek. Polskie Pierogarnie. I liked eating there but it's a small space so you may have to wait for a seat. They have communal seating.

If you enjoy chinese food like I do, the best chinese restaurant is China City Restauracja Chińska. Tasty dumplings and more :)

Chimney Cake Bakery is awesome. A traditional dessert if you have a sweet tooth is a good option. My favorite had white chocolate and coconut.

The Dog in the Fog is on Tomasza Street off Rynek Square. A fun pub in the middle of Krakow which also has food. The owner is friendly so ask about the history of the space :)

Milkbar Tomasza is great! Tasty traditional eats and cool atmosphere. The kitchen staff and servers are friendly. Very affordable.
