Four hours in Osaka - what to see?

Hi everyone! We will be going from Kyoto to Himeji and stopping in Osaka for three-four hours. We will be using JR trains.
Is it possible to see anything in Osaka in so little time? Which objects and landmarks should we prioritize? Is it possible to see both Osaka Castle and Dotonbori?
Thank you so much!

Anything is possible. I've done Osaka to Himeji to Hiroshima and back in one day. Took in the castle and some artwork in Himeji, explored the Hypocenter area and museum in Hiroshima. The trick is to be realistic about how much of the landmarks you're going to be able to take in. If you want to see multiple things, maybe you don't climb the castles. Stuff like that. Good luck!

Hi Aiste,
Four hours is quite short but you can have a quick trip to Umeda Sky Building to its Floating Garden Observatory. You'll get a panoramic view of the city at 170 meters.
Matcha Japan Travel Magazine has detailed info and the fastest way to get to Umeda Sky Building from JR Station.
Or go for a meal at Dōtonbori . It will be difficult to fit in both Osaka Castle and Dotonbori in 3-4 hours.
There are coin-operated lockers on the first and third floors of the station if you need to store your bags.

Mentioned in this answer:

  1. Umeda Sky Building (attraction)
  2. Dōtonbori (attraction)
  3. Osaka Castle (attraction)
