Hi!
I'm going to Istanbul with my parents for 4 days in the beginning of June and would love some tips/suggestions!
Any cool curiosities and unique things to do are greatly appreciated! As well as any must sees (blue mosque, grand bazaar), or any interesting day trips!
Thanks so much!
Best,
M
You should try to visit the touristic places e.g. Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque. But I would recommend going to
Have a wonderful trip!
I miss Istanbul a lot:)

Four days will allow you to scratch the surface of the city. You'll want to come back for more! Here is a suggested itinerary for fours days. Day one and four will depend on your arrival times and dates. Do know that the grand bazaar is closed Sunday, Ayasofya closed Monday and Topkapi Palace closed Tuesday so plan around that. I highly recommend doing an orientation tour with My Local Guide Istanbul. Their "Secrets of Istanbul" tour will give you a great welcome to old Istanbul - giving you the confidence to go back and see sites in your own time with confidence.
Day 1 - Half day with My Local Guide Istanbul then Hagia Sophia and Basilica Cistern and Grand Bazaar in afternoon Or start with Ayasofya, Basilica Cistern, Blue Mosque, Hippodrome, Grand Bazaar.
Day 2 - Topkapı Sarayı, Gulhane Park, Eminonu Bazaar/Spice Bazaar and Bosphorus Cruise | Day Cruises | Istanbul Sightseeing.
Day 3 - Dolmabahçe Palace up to Taksim Square down Istiklal Avenue to Galata Tower. Evening in Kadıköy.
Day 4 - Chora Church, western city walls, Pierre Loti Tepesi Tesisleri and Eyüp Sultan Mosque OR trip to Princes' Islands (Buyukada is my top pick)
So much to see.

Hello, Great for you, Istanbul is one of the most interesting cities on the globe!
Please check my answer to a question asked earlier here on Trippy about the Istanbul:

Enjoy!
All of the normal big spots - the mosques of course,Topkapı Palace. The Spice Bazaar is wonderful (Located in the Eminönü quarter of the Fatih district). Bargaining is less of an art these days, but the older the vendor is, the more they will engage you, and serve you all the apple tea ("tourist tea") you can drink. Don't let the name put you off, its delicious. Leather goods are high quality.
Hungry? Head down to the Fish Restaurant Row and enjoy the charming waiters and they try to coax you in. (But while you are there just give Semazen a try, lovely place, great food, wonderful people, not a tourist trap. Its on Alemdar Mah. Ticarethane Sk, No:11 Divanyolu Cad in Sultanahmet)
I enjoy the night tours if you can find one, and there is this "Dark Side of Istanbul" tour we did, that was a little macabre, but the history was phenomenal!
Go to the European side of Istanbul, to the fancy neighborhoods such as Bebek and walk around. Great architecture! Lovely cafes.
If you like museums, don't miss the İstanbul Archaeology Museums! Amazing. (located at Osman Hamdi Bey YokuşuGülhane) or the Museum of Innocence (located at Çukurcuma Caddesi, Dalgıç Çıkmazı, 2)
A day trip to Ephesus was a great diversion.
Take a day ferry ride on the Turyol http://www.turyol.com/
Take a walk around ancient suburb of Kadıköy, known for its fresh produce market - and stop for lunch at "One of Turkey’s most acclaimed eateries", Çiya Sofrasi (Güneşlibahçe Sokak 43)
Beyoğlu has great nightlife and a fancy cocktail bar called Leb-i Derya with amazing rooftop views!
Whatever you do, stay in a hotel with a rooftop so you can enjoy your Turkish breakfasts looking out over this incredible city.
It is one of my favorite places in the world!
