Best plan and budget from Istanbul to Beijing?

I am starting to plan a road trip from Istanbul to Beijing, inspired from the Silk road obviously. I was thinking of riding a motorcycle but any suggestion is welcome.

My planned route is: Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and China (via Tibet or Mongolia).

How long do you think is the minimum time this trip would take? What would be a reasonable budget?

Thanks :)

I would suggest Turkey-Iran-Pakistan-India-Nepal-(Tibet)-China is more fun as you will see all the major eastern religions and major cultures.  If it helps, in Turfan China I met some Germans and Austrians who were driving 4x4 diesel camper trucks from Berlin to Beijing and they planned six months.

The plan is good. Only thing - you can not cross the border of Armenia to Azerbaijan. 2 countries are in war, although there is a ceasefire now. Instead of it, you can drive from Armenia to Georgia, and from Georgia to Azerbaijan

  1. Armenia (attraction)
  2. Azerbaijan (attraction)
  3. Georgia (attraction)
