5 Days in ireland in March

Three of us are traveling to Ireland for St Patty's day.  We will arrive in Dublin at 8:30am on st patricks day.  We will stay in Dublin for 2 days before hitting the road in the rental car.  As this is our first trip to Ireland, what are some suggestions of things to see and do in Dublin?  What is achievable to see on the road over a three day period?  We are leaning towards exploring the west and southern regions.

Thanks in advance for all of your help!!

My best advise is stay longer! If you only have 3 days head west to Galway Fun city and lots to see around the area (cliffs of Moher). In Dublin definitely spend some time walking around Temple Bar and check out the Guinness Brewery St James Gate.

  1. Galway (city)
  2. Moher (attraction)
  3. Dublin (attraction)
  4. Temple Bar (attraction)
  5. Guinness Brewery St James Gate (restaurant)

Small country but takes much much longer to get places. Galway a great suggestion if you go straight there(no sidetrips) &'ll end up with 1 day in Galway. A better use of time might be to travel south of Dublin along the coast.  My 12th trip to Ireland last May....2wks - not enough time!

  1. Galway (city)
  2. Dublin (attraction)
