Claire from San Diego asked

Best shopping in Honolulu?

I want to get my shopping on in Honolulu! Where are the best places? I'd like to know shopping malls, as well as markets or areas to find unique stuff. Thanks!

I like craft fairs or arts fests. While not all craft fairs are the same we do have some pretty good ones though I might be biased because I used to be a crafter and my friends are crafters. The Island Craft Bulletin Calendar is a great resource to know what craft fairs are going on in Honolulu

Hi Claire! Amber, below, is right: there is great shopping to be done in  Waikiki (on Kalakaua Ave), but sadly the International Market Place is now being renovated to become a luxury shopping area but there is still a small street filled with vendors selling souvenirs and knick knacks.

A nearby mall (and I believe one of the USA's largest open mall?) Ala Moana Center is a three-storey open mall with endless shops, restaurants and food court. You can easily get there from Waikiki either by shuttle or taxi.

A little further out of Waikiki, about 20 mins away by car, is the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet filled with vendors selling a variety of things: http://www.alohastadiumswapmeet.net/

Hope this helps! Enjoy your trip!

The International Market Place is a great stop for shopping. And there is some great shopping if you walk around Waikiki.
