My husband and I are planning a trip to Hong Kong in May 2016. Is that a good time of year to travel to Hong Kong?
Winter would be better... The humid would smother you in summer...
November and December are easily the best. As mentioned, January through March are also good but can be a little damp.
I like it when Hong Kong is all decked out around Christmas, it's very festive.
Avoid May thru to August the humidity is a killer. April and September can be pretty bad too. In October, hotel costs tend to be on the high side because of a plethora of trade fairs
November thru March are very pleasant and considered cool by Hong Kong people but lovely, temperatures in the low to mid 20s for those of us who do not care for the heat. Also if you get the chance to go for Chinese New Year which takes place at end of Jan to beginning of Feb it is wonderful
Hope this helps
The absolute best time to visit is November. The humidity is lower and the skies are clear most days. May it is starting to get humid and after June rainy.
it starts to be humid in may, and it may be a bit hot for shopping on street
May is not the best time to travel to Hong Kong, as April to August is Hong Kong’s raining season, and that’s why the humidity is usually high, bring an umbrella when you go outdoor, and September to November is the best time, which is Autumn, the weather is good.
Late November is probably the best time to go. Cooler weather without the sweltering heat and humidity, and there aren't any major holidays that would have the local population crowd the streets.
November to March is the best time to go (though in March you'll be experiencing a little rain). It is pretty humid in the summer but most indoor shops and restaurants are well air conditioned so you're fine once you're inside. If you do go during warm months, just know the first day or two might be a little challenging because of the humidity, but it gets better :)
