Is it convenient to rent a car and drive around in Hokkaido?

I plan to go for 12 days for snowboarding trip for first few days and drive around Hokkaido in March 2017.

Places we plan to visit:
- Niseko
- Hakkodate
- Toya
- Sapporo

- Furano
-Biei
- Asahiyama

Yes, it's very convenient! Remember it's snow season, though. Both of you and the car need to prepare for it ;)

Oh thanks for the comment! Me and gf were wondering if we can get by with buses and trains. Perhaps only rent on certain places :)
