Go visit downtown, Jaffa Road, and go up to Carmel center Hanasi, many restaurants and bars very close by walk. As for a beach, I recommend you Dado Beach.

For Beaches - Leave Haifa. Go to Neve Yam near Atlit.
All Haifa beaches are packed, because it is a city. A Kibbutz beach will be less crowded, and more clean, because the population is smaller.
Restaurants - Leave Haifa. you need to go to tiny villages in the Galilee to eat good food. Try  Said in HaShuk, or Original Abu Adham nearby Kafr Yasif

Good Luck

I would suggest going the Bahá'í Gardens in Haifa - Tour Entrance  (sign up ahead of time for a tour). From the tour entrance you can walk to Merkaz HaKarmel through the Louis Promenade with great views of the sea and city. Also would recommend walking around Wadi Nisnas and the Flea Market, Haifa . A fun thing to do is use the cable car from Bat Galim up to Stella Maris and visit the monastery there.

Near Dado Beach there is another promenade with lots of restaurants and cafes that run up and down the coast. It's a nice place to hang out, especially during the sunset. There are public folk dancing sessions that are fun to watch.

The best restaurants in Haifa you will find at the German Colony, the lower part of the city not too far from the sea-port along Ben Gurion boulevard.
