Cheapest way to go from Antigua to Coban to Lake Atitlan

Hi, heading to Guatemala in March.   We (2 people) want to go from Antigua to Coban to see Lanquin caves and Semuc Champey, and from there to the Lake for a couple of days.  Talking with a travel agent in Antigua about the Coban trip and she has us on private shuttles which is pretty expensive.  How hard would it be to do shared shuttles for this trip? Also, can anyone recommend a good travel service in Coban to set up tours of Biotope Quetzal, Lanquin caves and Semuc?   Thanks!

Hi, the best way to do it is from Antigua to the lake(1 day trip, about $75) and go back to sleep to Antigua.  After that you can go to the biotopo and lanquin ( 3 days trip at least) in colective shuttles from Antigua to lanquin is about $50 (daily shuttles from Antigua).  In order to stop by the biotopo you have to arrange a private shuttle from Antigua or from Coban.

It's better if you buy your ticket right there in Guatemala, prices are actually real cheap in all Latin America countries so trust me, once you get there you'll notice that this private shuttle you are trying to book it's expensive.

hey! There are a lot of shuttles from Antigua to those places ! :) Don´t take a private shuttle because is obviously more expensive, just go there and ask in a hostel. I´m sure you will find a cheap one.
