I want to drive to the Grand Canyon National Park AZ from Denver CO and would like to know the best and fastest route to take. I also would like to know where is the largest airport to get to from the Grand Canyon National Park AZ?
Fly to Las Vegas, rent a car. Book Helicopter tours of Grand Canyon National Park. Get a suite at Circus Circus Hotel & Casino. Across the street are bus tours.

Your fastest route would he I-70 wedt through Grand Junction (Colorado), and then US 191 through Moab. US 160 W through Arizona and then US 89 S. Depending ypon which rum you want to go to. The app MAPS or google maps is very helpful with step by step direcrions. Good luck!

Phoenix is the largest airport close to the Grand Canyon National Park. It is about 3 hours to the canyon from Phoenix.

Get on I-40 West, to Flagstaff. It’s an hour drive to the South Rim Trail. The North Rim has limited access: the road in opens May 15, and closes October 15. The biggest airport is Sky Harbor Airport Terminal 2 in Phoenix; next would be Las Vegas, but as I said, Vegas gives access to the North Rim, which is only open in summer.

hi Roxanne! I would use an online tool to find the best route, such as Google maps, it can compare routes that look long but are on major highways, with routes that use state highways. When are you going? I ask because the north rim of Grand Canyon National Park is closed in winter so your driving route might be different to North rim than to South rim. The South Rim Trail has a large information center where the Park Service shows a well-made film about the history of the park--geologically and as a tourism site. Also the website for the national park has links to some excellent resources for planning your trip. included is information about airports. Yeah Philip is right --Zion National Park and Moabare fantastic--but if time isn't available.... This summer a friend visited from Europe wanted terribly to see the GC yet had limited vacation time. We visited GC only three days but was totally worth it.

I don't know the answer to your question, however I have driven from Denver to the Grand Canyon National Park twice. I must ask, why are you in a rush? Some of my favorite places in the world I discovered during these two drives. The Grand Canyon is impressive but so are countless places along the way. Zion National Park, Moab, Arches National Park Entrance Station, Mesa Verde National Park, Durango, Sedona, etc... The Grand Canyon is worth rushing for, but I encourage you to take your time.
